Evan Chong is in his first year at TIS. He started his teaching career in Japan, teaching English on the Japanese Exchange Teacher Program. He then took a step away from education and worked in the business world for 6 years. In those 6 years, Evan worked in a variety of different sectors with technology being the most recent. After a downturn in the technology sector, Evan went back to school to receive a multiple subject K-8 teaching license from Saint Mary’s College of California. His first teaching assignment was teaching 2nd Grade in the Dublin Unified School District. There, Evan was also the onsite technology coach and tested different hardware configurations to establish a classroom standard for technology. In 2008, Evan moved to Augsburg, Germany, where he taught Grade 3 and served as the Technology Coordinator. His next stop was Warsaw, Poland at the American School of Warsaw where he taught, Grade 3 and Grade 5 in a technology focused classroom. Evan received a Master’s in International Education in 2011 and actively seeks learning opportunities to stay current with today’s trends and tomorrow’s needs. Evan loves Classic European Cars, cooking, cycling, swimming, surfing and learning new ways to use technology in the classroom.
